Settings

For site administrators configuring NetterTech Events options.

All settings live under Events > Settings in your WordPress admin. Settings are organized across five tabs. Changes on each tab save independently when you click Save Changes.

General tab

General settings

Default Calendar View The view shown when visitors first land on your events calendar. Options: Month, Week, Day, List. Default: Month.

Events Per Page How many events to show per page in list views and shortcodes (1-100). Default: 10.

Timezone The timezone used for all event times displayed on your site. Defaults to your WordPress site timezone.

Default venue

Pre-populates venue fields when creating new events. Useful for venues with a single fixed location.

Enable Default Venue When checked, new events pre-fill the venue name and address, which can still be overridden per event. Default: off.

Venue Name The default venue name. Appears in the event editor and on event pages.

Venue Address The default street address. Accepts multiple lines.

URL settings

Events Base Path The URL segment used for all event URLs (e.g., yoursite.com/events/event-slug/); a conflict warning appears if it matches an existing page, and permalink rules flush automatically on save. Default: events.

Archive Path The URL for your past events archive. Default: {base}/archive (e.g., yoursite.com/events/archive/).

Features

Enable RSVP Allows free RSVP registrations on events; when unchecked, the RSVP form is hidden site-wide. Default: on.

Enable Tickets Enables paid ticketing via WooCommerce; when unchecked, the ticket types section is hidden in the event editor (requires WooCommerce). Default: on.

End Time Two sub-options control how the end time field behaves in the event editor:

  • Show end time fields expanded by default - The end time section starts open rather than collapsed. Default: on.
  • Require end time when visible - Makes end time mandatory when the field is shown. Default: off.

Display tab

Event page layout

Controls the order and visibility of components on single event pages. Drag rows to reorder; toggle the eye icon to show or hide each component. Changes apply to all event pages.

Description Heading Heading rendered above the event description; leave empty to hide the heading entirely. Default: “About This Event”.

Image display

Configures aspect ratios for event images. The site default applies everywhere; per-view overrides take precedence for specific layouts.

Site Default Aspect ratio applied to all event card images unless a per-view override is set. Presets: 16:9 (Widescreen), 3:2 (Classic Photo), 4:3 (Traditional), 1:1 (Square), Original (Natural). Select Custom to enter any ratio like 5:4. Default: 16:9.

Cards Layout / List Layout / Carousel / Calendar Tooltip Optional per-view aspect ratio override; set to Use Site Default to inherit the global setting. Default: Use Site Default.

Date Badge Color Background color for the date badge on event cards. Check Use custom color to activate the color picker; uncheck to inherit your theme’s primary color. Default (when custom is active): #2563eb.

Theme colors

Auto-detects colors from your active theme’s palette and applies them to plugin UI elements. If detection gives wrong results, check Customize colors to override individual roles manually.

Color roles: Primary (buttons and links), Primary Hover (button/link hover state), Text (main body text), Text Muted (secondary labels and captions), Border (dividers and outlines), Background (page background), Background Alt (card and panel backgrounds). Each accepts a hex color value.

Archive display

Configures the events archive page (/events/ and the past events page).

Layout Style How events appear on archive pages (Cards, Grid, or List). Default: Cards.

Columns Number of columns in the grid or cards layout (1-6), adjusting automatically for smaller screens. Default: 3.

Events Per Page Number of events per page on archive pages (1-100); separate from the General > Events Per Page setting that controls shortcode and block defaults. Default: 12.

Ticketing tab

Tickets & capacity

These values pre-fill when you add a new ticket type to an event. You can override them per ticket type.

Default Min Per Order Minimum number of tickets a customer must purchase in a single order (1-100). Default: 1.

Default Max Per Order Maximum number of tickets a customer can purchase in a single order (1-100). Default: 10.

Low Stock Threshold When remaining capacity falls below this percentage (1-50), a “low stock” indicator appears on the event page. Default: 10 (percent).

Donations

Adds an optional donation prompt during WooCommerce checkout. Requires WooCommerce.

Enable Donations When checked, a donation option appears on the checkout page for ticket orders.

Cause/Message Short text displayed to customers at checkout explaining what the donation supports. Default: “Support our venue”.

Round-Up To The increment used for the round-up suggestion: nearest $1, nearest $5, or nearest $10. Default: nearest $1.

Preset Amounts Comma-separated donation amounts customers can choose with one click. Example: 5, 10, 25. Default: 5, 10, 25.

Custom Amount When checked, customers can type a custom donation amount instead of selecting a preset. Default: on.

Maximum Donation Upper limit for custom donation amounts. Accepts 1-10000. Default: 100.

Check-In

Demographic Counters Comma-separated labels for additional head-count categories tracked during check-in (e.g., BIPOC, Youth, Accessibility); leave empty to disable. Default: empty.

Completion Email Email address to receive the check-in summary report when you click Complete Check-In. Leave empty to disable the completion email.

See the check-in guide for the full check-in workflow.

QR codes tab

Controls default appearance for QR codes on tickets and check-in materials. The settings here set the defaults; you can still override them when generating individual QR codes from the QR Generator page.

Foreground Color Color of the QR code modules (the dark squares). Select from the palette swatches or use the custom color picker. Default: black (#000000).

Background Color Background color behind the QR code. Accepts any hex color. Default: white (#ffffff).

Background Opacity Transparency of the QR code background (0% = fully transparent, 100% = fully opaque). Default: 100%.

Scale Size of each QR code dot in pixels (3-20 px); higher values produce a physically larger image. Default: 5.

Dot Shape Shape of the individual QR modules. Options: Rounded, Square. Default: Rounded.

Finder Corners Shape of the three large corner squares used by scanners to orient the code. Options: Square, Rounded. Default: Square.

Default Logo Logo centered in the QR code. Three options:

  • No Logo - Plain QR code with no overlay.
  • Site Logo - Uses the logo set in your theme customizer (unavailable if no site logo is configured).
  • Custom Logo - Upload any image from your media library. Works best with simple, high-contrast logos.

Email & advanced tab

Email

Reminder Emails When checked, attendees receive a reminder email 24 hours before their event; individual events can override this. Default: on.

Disable Customer Emails When checked, no confirmation emails are sent to customers after RSVP or ticket purchase (use when managing email through a separate CRM). Default: off.

Exclude QR Codes When checked, QR codes are not included in confirmation emails. Default: off.

Notification Emails Comma-separated email addresses that receive RSVP and order notifications. Example: staff@venue.com, manager@venue.com. Leave empty to send no staff notifications.

Cancellation Policy HTML-formatted text appended to all confirmation emails for refund policies, transfer rules, or contact information. Default: empty.

Advanced

These settings affect system performance and behavior. The defaults are suitable for nearly all sites. Only change them if you have a specific reason.

Recurring Event Lookahead How many days ahead the plugin generates occurrences for recurring events (30-730 days); larger values use more database storage. Default: 365.

See recurring events for how recurrence patterns work.

API Rate Limit Maximum REST API requests allowed per time window, expressed as requests and seconds. Default: 60 requests per 60 seconds.

Cart Hold Time How long (in seconds) ticket capacity is reserved while items sit in a cart before being released on abandonment (60-3600 seconds). Default: 900 (15 minutes).

Category Cache Duration How long category dropdown data is cached in seconds (60-86400); lower values reflect new categories sooner, higher values reduce database load. Default: 3600 (1 hour).

Activity Log Retention How long activity log entries are kept before automatic cleanup (7-365 days). Default: 90 days.

Delete Data on Uninstall When checked, uninstalling the plugin permanently and irreversibly deletes all events, occurrences, tickets, attendee records, and plugin settings. Default: off.
